Blessings from all of us at Life Nazarene!
I thought this was a good quote from an article by Pastor Greg Laurie of Harvest Crusades-----You can read the whole article at WorldNetDaily.
Blessings to you!
"God is aware of the problems and challenges we are facing. God is paying attention. God is orchestrating the events of our lives. He has been preparing and equipping us for this moment. He created us, he gifted us, and now he wants to use us. It is time for us to come out of our bubbles and pay attention to the people around us. Instead of cursing the darkness, try turning on the light. There is a time to be quiet, a time to just live it. And there is also a time to speak up.
Has God placed you where you are for such a time as this? There is only one you. There is only one person walking this earth with your exact heritage. The precise events and sufferings of your life have brought you to this hour. Just as no two snowflakes are alike, you are unique from everyone else. If you have suffered in life, if you have been neglected or mistreated and abused, I am sorry. But God can take the hurt and pain that the world has dealt you and use it to make you a godly man or a godly woman for such a time as this."

There are times when life gets tough and seems to only get tougher. However---when the weatherman says next Monday may hit 70 degrees---it stirs up something that changes the game----hope. Days of picnics and flowers---daylight savings time--frisbee tossing at 8 pm. On a spiritual note, the Bible says that Goodness and Mercy are following us every day of our lives---as we follow Jesus, he provides all we need from His riches in glory----He wants us to be the head and not the tail----we were made to have dominion. Thru the circumstances of life, lets remember that we are God's kids---and He wants to love on and take care of us---and wants us to----
dare I say it-----to prosper in body and soul. Let HOPE arise within you!
This Saturday the MEN of the church and their friends---are invited to dinner---
officially called----G.uys A.t S.upper----GAS----and we will have a gas enjoying
a boys night out at Higginsville at a BBQ joint---The Red Shanty. Meet at the church at 4:30 and carpool with us for some gooooooood stuff and a great time with the men!
Congratulations to all the athletes who made it to Sochi, Russia for the olympic games! It is quite an accomplishment to be one of the best in the world in your field. Go USA!
St. Paul refers to the Christian life being similar in various ways to an olympic race. He viewed his
children in the Lord as a laurel wreath placed on his head as a winner in the games. He also encouraged is to forget the beginning of the race and press on and strain for the finish line----with the goal of getting to know Christ and live with Him forever.
So, let's accept God's free gift of forgiveness and grace---and then get serious about our faith---dig in and study, pray, listen, encourage one another----and let's win the race!
On Mt Sinai --God and the children of Israel pledged to each other in a very
wedding-like ceremony. Someday the church will have a heavenly
wedding ceremony with our Husband-to-be-----Jesus. Let's look forward
to that this Valentine's week---taking all the love references as a precursor
to meeting in person our Great Love---Christ the Lord! John 14 says He has
gone to make us a home---just like a husband for a wife. A bridal suite.
He will come again to take us there where we will enjoy His presence forever. Thank you Jesus!
With all of our cold breezes blowing this week-----it made me think of the Holy Spirit. He is likened to a wind blowing. He isn't sitting in a lazy boy chair somewhere---He is moving and flowing all around us--calling us to the Father---urging us to love---filling us with encouragement to action! and----giving us the power to do great things. So, listen and let the Wind blow!
Thanks to Mike Grimshaw for preaching for us last Sunday! We were encouraged to surround one another with love and encouragement so we can all succeed and thrive.
In a sad note, Pastor Bob's mother passed away on New Year's day. She was a Christian and a pastor's wife for around 60 years---so her passing was sweet, though hard on the family. Pray for Bob and his Dad and all the family in this time of grief. Roger Freed will be our speaker this Sunday while Bob is in California for the funeral. He preached for us last year once. He and his wife will sing for us, too!
Let's all live like we mean it---because we all have a limited time here---so love lots, work hard, and laugh lots---and keep close to Jesus. Amen.
Those words----sometimes avoided by some modern day people----are 2 of the best words in our language. That God would send His Son---to become one of us--to be the Lamb of sacrifice for us all---is such an amazing thing! Thinking of and celebrating that event----what else could it make us but MERRY! Of course, those whose worldview must minimize Jesus and the Bible are upset about it all---it reminds them that the little Babe in the manger says to them----
"Who do you say that I am?" and if they won't bend their knee to Him now----they are made uncomfortable. Ignoring the God of the Universe should make us squeamish.
So-----Let's bow our knee---let's offer Him our best presents---let's share the celebration of our Great Savior--- JESUS! Merry Christmas!
We just finished a seminar on Wednesday called "Love and Respect"
It had great insight on men's greatest heart need---respect----and women's greatest
heart need---love. We were amazed to see our relationships in a new light--and find ways to avoid the crazy cycle of lack of respect causing lack of love causing lack of respect causing lack of love......you get the picture. We will be presenting the series again sometime soon. We will let you know---so you can have a more successful relationship!!!
