Happy Thursday!

It's another great day to be alive!  Think of the possibilities!  I keep remembering the Corrie Ten Boom quote over on our inspirational quotes page---That doing things in our own strength is tedious and hard, but doing things initiated by the Holy Spirit just flows out of us.  Soooo---keep your Holy Spirit ears and eyes open---don't just go down the pre-conceived list for today--listen and obey the gentle Spirit of God----
He created the universe with a word--imagine what He can do in our lives as we cooperate with His words to us today!!!!  So- supernatural people with God's own Spirit living inside of them--go get em!
p.s.  We will be feeding the Warrensburg Tiger football team and coaching staff tomorrow at 2:45 at our church---if you'd like to come help with the meal for 75--come over noonish or one-ish or two-ish and let's bless our kids with a great meal before their game.

A great day!

Had a great day at church today!  Fun to see our friends and be encouraged in the things of the Spirit. Congratulations to all the kids who were promoted to the next grade and walked over the footbridge!
Thanks to everyone who wore a backpack in solidarity with our students.  A great sermon entitled:"What's in your backpack?"  by Dr. Salter delving into the little boy who brought 5 loaves and 2 fishes to hear Jesus---and shared them, blessing thousands.  What small (or large) things do we have that we can take out of our "backpacks" to help or bless others?  A kind word?  A hug?  A few minutes of encouragement? A bag of groceries?  A large check to bless someone? Check out the whole sermon on the sermon audio page. Thanks for reading this!  See you at church!

The pastoral search process is continuing!  The church board has met almost weekly with our district superintendent, Jeren Rowell.  We will be getting some great information about some of our possible pastors this weekend.  There has been a very strong group of candidates presented to us.  Pray that the board has wisdom and can soon say like they did in the book of Acts---"Set apart ________ for the work of the ministry---it seems good to us and the Holy Spirit."  Amen!

Our district of Nazarene churches, called the Kansas City district, is having their yearly conference this week.  Dr. Jeren Rowell who has been helping us in our pastor search is the leader of our district.  There are around 88 churches in our district---from Sedalia to Topeka.  We are sending 3 delegates to the meetings who will enjoy the music, inspiration, missionaries, news from the area, and will vote for officers and several national items.  It is great to be connected to a district that has such great resources and activities.
